Community Involvement
The Board and staff of the Northern California Veterans Museum and Heritage Center are always on the go within the Greater Northern California area that we serve. Over the past two years we have done a great deal to serve our community's Veterans and our civilians as well. Our goal is to always be there, ready to lend a hand and to educate our greater community to the needs of our many Veterans, as well as the need for the Museum itself.
In 2008 we participated in the Tehama County Thunder Rolls, Shasta Estates Luncheon with our Mobile Exhibit, Happy Valley Strawberry Festival, three month exhibit at the Shasta County Historical Society, Shasta County Stand Down, Shasta Lake City Veterans Day Parade, National Guard Families Christmas Meal, and the Wreaths Across America at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery in Igo.

We have also given several presentations about the museum, assisted on the committee for the Ground Breaking Ceremony for the Northern California Veterans Home on Knighton Road, and a mobile display for Hilltop Estates. We have also been busy with Honor Flights, we had a trip in late June and the last trip, the second weekend in October. We flew out of Sacramento on the first flight and flew out of San Francisco on the second flight. Both flights were memorable and enjoyable. We helped set up for the 2010 Stand Down. We took our 1952 Korean War Ambulance in the Veterans Day Parade in Shasta Lake City.
