" Fortune is rightly maleficent to those who break with the customs of the past." Winston Churchill
One of the signs of a great nation is the diligence with which it passes culture from one generation to the next. This idealism is the embodiment of everything the individuals of this society hold dear; It's religious faith, it's heroes, and it's traditional honors and ceremonies. When one generation no longer recognizes it's own heritage and fails to pass the torch to it's children, it is like saying in essence that the very foundational principles and experiences that make this society what is is, are no longer valid. This of course, leaves that next generation without any sense of definition or direction, making them the fulfillment of Karl Marx's dictum, "A people without a heritage are easily persuaded."
What is required when this happens and the society has lost it's way, is for leaders to arise who have not forgotten the discarded legacy and who love it with all their hearts. They can then become the voice of this lost heritage, wooing an errant generation back to the faith of their fathers, back to the foundations, the bedrock values and traditions that our nation was founded upon.
It is my sincere hope as founder of the Northern California Veterans Museum and Heritage Center to present this lost and dying heritage back into our West Coast Society, present it in such a manner as to revitalize our communities and youth. Educating our communities and youth about those who have gone before us paying the ultimate sacrifices for the Freedoms with which so many seem to have taken for granted, everywhere in our nation today.
Won't you please join us in our effort to preserve the heritage of our men and women who have served our nation at such a great cost and to tell their stories of Courage and Bravery?
"Veterans Create History...Help Us Preserve It!"
